Autograph Of The Week : Rollie Fingers

On August 21, 1982, Rollie Fingers was called from the bullpen in the ninth inning with a 3-2 lead. He was pitching in Seattle for Milwaukee and in that game, he recorded career save number three-hundred and became the first pitcher in major league history to accomplish this feat.

"I'd rather quit." - Rollie Fingers on being traded to a team that banned all forms of facial hair.

Rollie Fingers is most remembered for his handle bar mustache, but did you know he was six-feet four?

How good was Fingers? Rollie Fingers was the premier closer for the A's when they won five division titles, three pennants, and three World Series!

At the end of his career, he was still leading the National League in saves, winning the Rolaids Relief Award, and adding pitches to his arsenal!
