Cy Young Award American League Vote Analysis

Baseball Almanac presents a Cy Young Award vote analysis with year-by-year point totals for every American League pitcher in history.

Note: During the first eleven years (1956-1966), only one winner from each league was selected. Immediately after Commissioner Frick retired, the rules were changed to honor the best pitcher from each league.

"I'm really honored and flattered to be chosen unanimously as the winner. It is equally special and equally important to last year." - Pedro Martinez
