Cy Young Award National League Vote Analysis

Baseball Almanac presents a Cy Young Award vote analysis with year-by-year point totals for every National League pitcher in history.

Note: During the first eleven years (1956-1966), only one winner from each league was selected. Immediately after Commissioner Frick retired, the rules were changed to honor the best pitcher from each league.

"Our guys realize that we are lucky to have Randy (Johnson) and that we don't have to face him. This is a thirty-seven-year-old guy who throws ninety-eight miles-per-hour. He's a remarkable athlete and I feel lucky to have had him pass my way." - Buck Showalter
