Hank Aaron Award Vote / Point Analysis

The Hank Aaron Award was introduced in 1999 to honor the twenty-fifth anniversary of Aaron breaking Babe Ruth's all-time home run record. During that season, winners were determined by assigning a pre-determined number of points for each hit, home run, and run batted in.

During the 2000 season and subsequent years, the play-by-play broadcasters and color analysts from each club's radio and television stations will vote for three players from each league. Each first place vote will receive five points, each second place vote receives three points, and a third place vote receives one point. Baseball Almanac is pleased to present a complete vote / points analysis for the Hank Aaron Award.

"I never smile when I have a bat in my hands. That's when you've got to be serious. When I get out on the field, nothing's a joke to me. I don't feel like I should walk around with a smile on my face." - Hank Aaron
