Organization of the Year Award

In 1982, Baseball America began naming an overall organization of the year. The editors pick a selection based on a franchise's performance during the season with the team, coach, general manager and organizational package taken as a whole.

Baseball Almanac is pleased to present a comprehensive list of teams honored by "Baseball America" with the prestigious Organization of the Year Award along with basic win-loss data and links to the teams' winning roster (and stats).

"These guys (the 2000 Chicago White Sox) came together a lot quicker than everyone thought. This year, in spring training, I didn't think we'd win the division, but realistically we were looking at the wild card. And things happen in baseball." - Frank Thomas

Organization of the Year Award

Alan Simpson, the editor of "Baseball America", said of the 2000 Chicago White Sox,"It's rare that an organization can simultaneously improve its major league club and upgrade its farm system, but the White Sox did that this year."
