Albright College Baseball Players Who Made it to the Major Leagues

Baseball Almanac is pleased to present a comprehensive chart of every Albright College alumnus who played baseball at the Albright College AND made it to the Major League level.

"Allen Sothoron was a spitball pitcher who spent eleven years in the major leagues, playing for the St. Louis Browns, Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, and the St. Louis Cardinals. His best season came in 1919, where he went 20-13 with a 2.20 ERA. After the spitball was outlawed, he was one of the few pitchers allowed to use the banned pitch. He was never able to match those numbers, and quickly after being released by the Browns, he was out of baseball. He was an assistant coach with the Browns, with a brief, eight-game managerial stint after the dismissal of Bill Killefer. He was replaced with hometown favorite Rogers Hornsby." - WikiPedia.com

College research is an evolving field, but to date, no college other than Albright has had five or more former major league players and none who have had a major league home run.

Did you know that there are eight former Albright players who made it to "the show"? Send corrections to Baseball Almanac.
