Dartmouth College Baseball Players Who Made it to the Major Leagues

Baseball Almanac is pleased to present a comprehensive chart of every Dartmouth College alumnus who played baseball at Dartmouth College AND made it to the Major League level.

"A fine supporting cast surrounded the (1939) Yankees' stellar centerfielder. Future Hall-of-Fame catcher Bill Dickey followed Joe D. in the Yanks lineup, hitting .302 with 24 homers and 105 RBI. All-Stars Red Rolfe, Charlie Keller, George Selkirk, and Joe Gordon did their share of hitting as well, each having career years. Pinch-hitter Tommy Henrich, later dubbed 'Old Reliable' for his penchant for getting big hits in key situations, found his way into 99 games and drove in 57 runs." - Baseball's Greatest Teams on BaseballLibrary.com

Dartmouth College M.L.B. Player Alumnus

Dartmouth College's baseball program started in 1866 and Lee Viau was their first player to make it to the Major League level.

Many sources often include Brad Ausmus when they mention Dartmouth College major league ballplayers. Baseball Almanac DID NOT include him on the chart above with Dates Played because he did not play for the Big Green baseball team:

"An All-Star catcher in 1999, (Brad) Ausmus never donned a Green and White uniform because he was the property of the New York Yankees while attending classes at Dartmouth. Though the catcher played minor league ball while attending college, he graduated from Dartmouth in 1991. Ausmus was selected in the third round of the 1992 expansion draft by the Colorado Rockies."
