Ohio University Baseball Players Who Made it to the Major Leagues

Baseball Almanac is pleased to present a comprehensive chart of every Ohio University alumnus who played baseball at Ohio University AND made it to the Major League level.

"Mike Schmidt is the best player in the National League today. There's no question about that. He honestly doesn't realize how much ability he has. All he has to do is get the most out of those abilities on a daily basis because, believe me, he can play. He can do it all and he's just starting to want to more and more." - Pete Rose

Ohio University M.L.B. Player Alumnus

Ohio University's baseball program started in 1892 and George Kahler was their first player to make it to the Major League level. Names that appear on the chart above in bold print are in the Ohio University Hall of Fame.

Did you know that there are eighteen (18) former Ohio University players who made it to "the show"? Send corrections or updates to Baseball Almanac.

The Ohio University Bobcats spent just over thirty-eight (38) seasons playing in the well-worn bleachers of Trautwein Field. In 1998 the Bobcats baseball team moved to a new home called Bob Wren Stadium. Their website commented, "If a team's stadium is worth a run or two by itself, the Bobcats should never trail at home this year."
