"This (playing baseball) is something I've been doing since I was 11 years old. It hasn't been easy. I've had my share of injuries - elbows, shoulders - and every year it seems like I've got to prove all over again that I can get guys out. But this is my passion. It's what I enjoy. If they let me play until I'm 50, I'll play until I'm 50." - Doug Linton in Omaha World Herald (April 24, 2004)
