University of Louisville M.L.B. Player Alumnus

The University of Louisville baseball program started in 1940 and Fred Koster was their first player to make it to the Major League level. Names that appear on the chart above in bold print are in the University of Louisville Hall of Fame.

The first player mentioned above, Doc Powers, attended Louisville first, did not play baseball, transferred to Holy Cross then finished school at Notre Dame before he became a Major League player!

Did you know that there are two former Louisville players and two former non-players who made it to "the show"? Send corrections to Baseball Almanac.
