University of New Orleans Baseball Players Who Made it to the Major Leagues

Baseball Almanac is pleased to present a comprehensive chart of every University of New Orleans alumnus who played baseball at the University of New Orleans AND made it to the Major League level.

"That would be beautiful, (being called up) but they're pretty loaded up with pitching, so it's probably not the best place for me to be. But if they were interested, I would certainly talk to the Cubs because that's probably one of my favorite places in the world — Wrigley Field. The Cubs fans are some of the best fans in all of sports. I really enjoyed my time there." - Jim Bullinger (January 31, 2004)

University of New Orleans M.L.B. Player Alumnus

The University of New Orleans's baseball program started in 1969 and Eric Rasmussen was their first player to make it to the Major League level.

The Privateers are a relatively new baseball team that has already had more major league players than hundreds of other universities. Perhaps they sing their fight song stronger than the other schools:

"Let's Hear It For UNO"

Let's give a cheer for old UNO,
Fling out her banner forward we go,
Come on U-N-O-! let's carry her colors silver and blue,
Shout out her praises true. U-N-O!
Our Privateers will march on to fame,
New Orleans glory they will proclaim,
So let that U-N-O spirit frighten our foe,
let's hear it for U-N-O!

Did you know that there are nine (9) former University of New Orleans players who made it to "the show"? Send corrections or updates to Baseball Almanac.
