University of South Alabama

Baseball Almanac is pleased to present a comprehensive chart of every University of South Alabama alumnus who played baseball at the University of South Alabama AND made it to the Major League level.

"No question, he's (Juan Pierre) sometimes trying too hard. He's struck out more this year than at this time last year. That's not him. Maybe he will settle down." - Florida Marlins Manager Jack McKeon on MLB.com (July 3, 2004)

University of South Alabama M.L.B. Player Alumnus

The University of South Alabama baseball program started in 1965 and Glenn Borgmann was their first player to make it to the Major League level. Names that appear on the chart above in bold print are in the University of South Alabama Hall of Fame.

The Jaguars Head Coach (Steve Kittrell) and Assistant Coach (Ronnie Powell) have run the program at the University of South Alabama for more than fifteen (15) years and the coaching-duo played together at South Alabama under Head Coach / former Major League ballplayer Eddie Stanky.

Did you know that there are nineteen (19) former University of South Alabama players who made it to "the show"? Send corrections or updates to Baseball Almanac.
