"I love it (being a close). It's nice having an idea when you're going in, having a role for however long it may be that they have me there. You can prepare yourself mentally." - Aaron Myette in The Courier-Journal (June 06, 2004)

University of Washington M.L.B. Player Alumnus

The University of Washington baseball program started in 1901 and Hunky Shaw was their first player to make it to the Major League level. Names that appear on the chart above in bold print are in the University of Washington Hall of Fame.

The University of Washington Huskey logo has served as inspiration for countless schools nation wide and their website discusses the creation of the current logo:

      The Huskey Logo

In 1995, Washington’s logo depiction of its Husky mascot was redesigned. The new version of the Husky was drawn by Michael G. Reagan using an Alaskan Malamute named Turbo Carrera as the model for the new image. The new version of the Husky shows a three-quarter profile of the mascot in a pose that is more majestic and regal than the previous version.
