Walk Off Grand Slams

Baseball Almanac is pleased to present a comprehensive chart of every player who has hit a (super) walk off grand slam. Super? Well if we only counted walk off grand slams the event would not be as rare as people think:

From 1950 though 2009 there were more than one-hundred sixty instances of players hitting a walk off-grand slam!

So to make it "super" Baseball Almanac lists below players on the home team who came to the plate and hit a grand slam when trailing by three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, thus winning the game, and hitting a truly super walk off grand slam.

"Roger Connor was a complete player — a deft first baseman and an agile base runner who hit 233 triples and stole 244 bases despite his size (6 feet 3 inches and 200 pounds)." - New York Times (George Vecsey, 05/13/2007, "Going Deep, Before Bonds and Aaron and Ruth")

Walk Off Super Slams

There have been twenty-three instances of a player hitting a walk off super slam by thirty-three different ball players — not one player has ever done this twice.

Why are some lines in bold print? Because those players hit their walk off grand slam, not only at home and down by three, but also when there were two outs!

Is this the single most exciting hitting feat? Have you ever seen a walk off super slam? Have you ever seen a "simple" walk off grand slam? Tell us on Baseball Fever.
