Ever wonder who had the most extra base hits the year you were born? How about players from you favorite team — have they ever led the league in extra base hits?

Baseball Almanac is pleased to present a year-by-year leaderboard in Major League extra base hits for every season since 1876. Note: A bold faced entry denotes that the player was active during the previous Major League season.

The all time extra base hits leader (click here to see the top one-hundred) only appears on this chart four times. Do you know who that player is?

Did you know that Babe Ruth is the only player in Major League history with four consecutive seasons (1918-1921) as an extra base hits leader?

In 1995 Albert Belle became only the tenth player to ever have more than one-hundred extra base hits, and the first since 1948, during a season. Five years later (in 2000) Todd Helton became just the eleventh and one year after that Barry Bonds became the twelfth "member" of this ultra-rare 100 Extra-base Hits Club.
