Stan Coveleski won twenty-or-more games five times during his career, including four consecutive seasons (1918-1921) with the Indians, a 20-wins pitching feat matched in Cleveland by two other hall of fame twirlers, Addie Joss (1905-1908) and Wes Ferrell (1929-1932), but never surpassed.

When the Indians won their first World Championship (1920 World Series), Stan Coveleski was selected to pitch Game 1 (he threw a complete game, allowing only five hits, and won it 3-1), Game 4 (he threw another complete game, he allowed only five hits again, he won it 5-1) and Game 7 (he threw a third complete game, he allowed only five hits a third time, and this time he shut out the Dodgers, winning it by a score of 3-0!
