Joe Farrell played in two consecutive games at third with Detroit on June 30, and July 1, 1884, and had a major league record twenty-three chances for two consecutive games!

On August 23, 1920, Billy Gardner of Cleveland played in twenty-one innings of a doubleheader and set the record for longest doubleheader without a chance at third!
