The Major League record for most errors by a third bagger goes to Arlie Latham who had a fourteen year career in the American Association, Players League, and National League and amassed seven-hundred eighty errors.

Did you know that the last third baseman to tie the American League record for errors in a game was Edgar Martinez of the Seattle Mariners on May 6, 1990?

On May 1, 1920, Tony Boeckel of Boston and Jimmy Johnston of Brooklyn both played at third in a record setting twenty-six inning game without a single error by either player at the hot corner.
