Did you know that Mike Corcoran, in his only game ever on the mound, tied the Major League record for wild pitches during a debut game with five? The only other player with this dubious debut was George Winkelman who also had five wild pitches in his first Major League start.

On April 14, 1914, Larry Cheney of the Chicago Cubs became the only pitcher to throw four wild pitches during an Opening Day game.

Nolan Ryan (1972, 1977-1978, 1981, 1986, 1989), Larry Cheney (1912-1914, 1916-18), and Jack Morris (1983-1985, 1987, 1991, 1994) have each led a league in wild pitches a Major League leading six different seasons.
