The Worcester Ruby Legs were a losing minor league team that was admitted into the National League to replace the Stars of Syracuse.

The team started strong, finished fifth, then dropped to last place two consecutive seasons. They were removed from the league in 1883 to make room for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Did you know that the Worcester Ruby Legs had only five pitchers during their three years history and that one of them pitched the first perfect game in Major League history?
